I am 29 weeks preg and am having lots of painful pressure in my cervix area, could I be in labor?

I had a LEAP done a couple of years ago and my cervix is getting shorter evrytime I go to the doc. Iwant to carry my baby as long as possible. My doctor said at my last appointment that I WILL NOT make it to my due date and I will be LUCKY to make it to 37 weeks.
